9/11 Memorial

This is a 9/11 memorial display stand that supports a piece of salvaged I-beam from one of the World Trade Centers.  It was an honor to design and build this in remembrance of those who lost their lives in this terrible tragedy.

The heart and inspiration of this piece was designed around the Twin Towers that act as the legs of the stand.  I purposely ran the wood grain vertically to signify that although America was knocked down that day, we didn’t stay there.  The top and bottom of the piece were shaped to resemble the tail of a plane.  At each corner, plane numbers of each of the four planes that crashed are represented.  The Pentagon then stands proud in the center.

This piece took 90 hrs to complete and with the I-beam on top weighs upwards of 200 lbs.
